Downtown Clean Up  Join us every third Tuesday of the month as we keep downtown Jacksonville clean by picking up trash.  Volunteers are asked to meet at the church at 9:00 a.m.   We will leave at 9:15 and be done by 10:15.  Gloves and trash bags are provided.   Next Date:  January 15, 2008

Family Promise Ministry  FUMC serves as a host church for Family Promise. As a host church we provide meals and shelter to homeless families for one week at a time on a rotational basis. Opportunities to serve during our host week include: dinner providers, evening hosts, overnight hosts, Saturday and Sunday day hosts, laundry, set-up, and clean up.

Children’s Ministry  At First United Methodist we have a heart for God and a heart for kids.  Join a team of people who are committed to helping the children of our church and community grow in their faith.  

Music Ministry Participate in worship by being a part of one of our music ministries.  Opportunities include the Sanctuary Choir and Handbells.   

Office Volunteer  Join a team of volunteers who help keep the office running.  Opportunities to volunteer include answering phones, inputting data, mailings, and much more. 

Worship Team  There is much work that goes into preparing for Sunday morning worship.  There are many volunteer opportunities in this area including but not limited to lighting and sounds, ushering, greeting, acolyte, communion assisting and preparing the sanctuary for worship.

Teams and Committees  There are many teams and committees that address the ministries and maintenance of the church.  This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in specific areas in the life of the church.   Examples of these groups include Worship, Trustees, Missions, Finance, United Methodist Women, Outreach, Publicity and much more. 

United Methodist Women  Join a group of women who meet both in small groups and large groups to serve the church, community, and world in a variety of ways.
